Corporate history
Rochester Resources Ltd. is a Vancouver-based company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, and a reporting issuer in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Through its wholly owned subsidiary Mina Real México SA de CV, it holds the Mina Real and San Francisco gold and silver properties in the state of Nayarit, Mexico.
Four of its five directors have served since 2007, the year the Mina Real processing plant began treating mineralized material from the Estanzuela Unit. Material from the San Francisco Unit was added in 2014, and today substantially all mill feed comes from San Francisco. The operation has run continuously since 2007.
For most of that time, high manganese content limited how much silver the plant could recover. In 2024 the company developed a pretreatment process with the University of Guanajuato, began modifying the plant in October 2024, and started the new circuit on March 21, 2025. Silver recovery for the year ended May 31, 2026 was 66.70%, up from 52.98% the year before.
